LabVolt Experiment 4: Transformer Efficiency and Voltage Regulation
This collection of videos shows how to use LabVolt LVsim Web-based motor/power systems simulator software. Online students will use the software to perform experiments on motors, generators and other electrical devices just like students taking courses on campus. This series of presentations explains how the software works and shows how to make connections for each lab activity. It is best to review these presentations before attempting to use the LVsim software. This activity applies an adjustable resistive load to a transformer secondary. The load resistance value should produce a 0.2 A increase for each additional step. Download this document for the correct switch settings of the 8311 resistive load box to achieve these values.
This lab activity requires the following LabVolt Modules
- 8311 Resistive Load
- 8353 Single Phase Transformer
- 8951-L Connection Leads
- 8960-C Four-Quadrant Dynamometer/Power Supply
- 9063-B Data Acquisition and Control Interface
