Experiment 8: IEC 1131 PLC Programming Languages 1: Introduction to Function Block and Structured Text Programming of a PLC
This video collection shows how to program a PLC use other types of languages. These languages are supported by the international standard IEC 1131. Connected Components Workbench (CCW) software by Allen Bradley supports this language along with ladder and structured text. Students will use both the function block and the structured text languages to program a electromechanical logic function.
Connected Components WorkBench software can program the Mirco800 series PLCs along with touchscreens and ac variable speed drives. The software used in this course is available for download from here. Lab 6 video introduction gives links to other software resources. This lab activity provides practice with PLC programming languages other than ladder logic.
