Experiment 4: Analog Measurement and Digital Control Integration Using LabVIEW
This collection of videos shows how to use the Measurement and Automation Explorer to create both analog and digital input/output channels. The lab activity will use an analog input as a control signal and then make changes in a lighting array using a digital output. The activity makes use of a photo resistor that has a non-linear characteristic. Two presentations show how to use MS Excel to first plot typical data points found from testing a photo resistor and then linearize the plot by taking the logarithm of the dependent responses. Another Excell tutorial shows how to use the software to adjust the values of a resistive voltage divider that includes a photo resistor to achieve an almost linear response between light level and output voltage.
