Dr.Garth V. Crosby

Dr. Crosby is a tenured associated professor at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.He has joint appointment in the Department of Technology (College of Engineering) and the Department of Computer Science (College of Science). Dr. Crosby's teaching interests include computer networks, wireless communication, digital electronics and embedded systems. His research focuses on designing secure and trusted solutions for wireless networking systems. Research areas include wireless sensor networks, wireless body area networks, mHealth, Internet of things (IoT) and cyberphysical systems.

Dr. Crosby earned his MS and PhD degrees at Florida International University in Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering, respectively. He obtained his BS in Electronics (Applied Physics) at the University of the West Indies, Mona. He is a program evaluator of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology(ABET). He has served as a co-chair of several conferences and is an editor of Inderscience's International Journal of Security and Networks (IJSN). He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and a member of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE), the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), Eta Kappa Nu and the Professional Order of Engineering Technology (POET).
